Update: McDonald's Respond to Halal food article

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting us with regards to your recent enquiry relating to Halal products and our menu.

I can confirm that for a limited time only and in answer to consumer demand, our restaurant at Southall has been chosen to trial selected Halal menu items. As such, during this trial we shall be serving the following Halal food items at Southall, Chicken Selects, McChicken Sandwich, Chicken Premiere, Chicken McNuggets, FrenchFries, Hash Brown, Filet O' Fish and Apple Pies.

For your reassurance, all McDonald's products are made from the highest quality ingredients and are carefully prepared to precise specifications. As a progressive burger company we have been working with our suppliers to find a way to serve Halal food that complies with our stringent animal welfare procedures as well as our guidelines pertaining to food hygiene and safety. We are confident that this has been achieved for our trial at the Southall restaurant.

We will of course regularly review the situation as part of our on-going menu development activity.
