With approaching half his constituents Muslim its interesting how Fitzpatrick, part of the white male establishment in the London Labour Party I wrote about yesterday chooses to attack his Muslim constituents rather than understand their practices and customs
London Muslim does not find the timing of this attack a coincidence following the expulsion of Muslims from the London Labour Party. Moreover, it appears Fitzpatrick may be giving up on the Muslim vote who are lining up behind George Galloway and attempting to appeal to the dwindling white working class vote.
My message to the huge Muslim community in Poplar and Canning Town don't you think you would be better served by having a MP who sympathetically understands and supports his or her constituents rather than attacking them?

ReplyDeleteAs in all politics, one can never be sure wether the story is being manipulated for "angle" or "spin".He appears to be saying that the separation of men and women is something new in his experience.
I understand the facts of the story, but would like to know if he was genuinely surprised,or was he using the event for his own political purpose.
I don't disapprove of Mr Fitzpatrick leaving the wedding - we've had to fight hard to reduce gender separation in UK life, and that requires sticking by one's principles when it's uncomfortable to do so - but it was base of him to have gone to the press with the story - it was a private occasion, and there's no excuse for turning it into a political event.
