Why Etihad think its appropriate for a scantily dressed Australian, Danni Minouge to promote the airlines new check in facilities at Heathrow's Terminal 4 is beyond me.
Etihad is the national airline of the UAE and when I last checked the UAE was Muslim so why do bosses think the best way to promote Arab & Muslim culture is to use Kylie's sister.
For some reason Arab embassy's, companies etc often contract out a lot of work to western PR agencies that are Muslim no go areas because they are run by westerners with a different outlook than that of a Muslim. That's probably why when Virgin airlines advertise the airlines its on the basis of selling the sexuality of its air hostesses.
Why not use Muslims to advertise and proudly promote Muslim culture and civilisation in the UAE. After all would Qantas use a Muslim woman in a Hijab or Burkini to promote Australia?

Best way to deal with such complaints is to give the address of the Qatar embassy and other officials that may be of help into your posts.
ReplyDeleteThis way, they are more likely to take notice of the problems they are causing and would also appreciate the time ad attention you have given them.
It is an airline for god sake, why should they promote Islam, they care about profits and if Danni Minogue does the job, then it is all good.

ReplyDeleteHmm, difficult one. Just a wild guess, but maybe Etihad were aiming to publicise their airline and (gasp!) attract more paying passengers? Maybe they realised that appeasing a small number of Muslim zealots didn't make good business sense?
Involving a popular and beautiful celebrity like Dannii Minogue has given them the positive coverage they wanted.
dont worry,
ReplyDeletesince normal and hard working crew rapidly going out from Etihad Airways- soon, you will see only your kind onboard.
