London Muslim is very concerned at this worrying development for a number of reasons. First the irony of course is that the men asking for a certificate may themselves have already got their leg over so not happy on hypocrisy grounds.
However, its the sort of feudal thinking within current male Muslim thinking that obligates women to uphold their honour rather than the other way round.
Ideally of course both Muslim men and women are obligated to marry as virgins but what proportion actually do is anybody's guess.
Not to mention it's not at all a reliable test. A quick Google reveals some quite shocking news and opinions.
