Iran and Saudi Arabia differ on the Hajj

With the Hajj fast approaching Iran and Saudi Arabia the two major protagonists are ratcheting up their statements about what the purpose of the Hajj is.

London Muslim is rather wary about these ominous differences because they are often used to sow divisions between Shias and Sunni particularly if anything untoward were to happen at the Hajj. The last time it kicked off at the Hajj was during the 1970s when Saudi Ikwan tried to overthrow the House of Saud who needed French Commandos to defeat the uprising. The siege of the Grand Mosque was falsely blamed on the Iranians followed by a massacre of Shias in Saudi as outlined in the Siege of Mecca.

For what its worth London Muslim has gone on record as nominating Turkey as the leader of the Islamic world.
