Jewish Muslim relations

Dan Rickman writes an outstanding article on Jewish Muslim relations or perhaps more accurately the lack of such a relationship between our two faiths here in the UK.

Its difficult to provide the single bullet answer to overcome the clear mutual distrust that exists. Perhaps at senior level the crass role of the MCB in boycotting the Holocaust Memorial plays into Jewish fears about a growing perception of antisemitism taking hold within the Muslim community.

Alternatively Muslims perhaps would like to see evidence of leading Jews ultimately including the British Board of Deputies of Jews distancing themselves from a Melanie Phillips form of Judaism.

The need for confidence building measures is evident. How many Muslims knew that the term Islamophobia came from a report chaired by the excellent Dr Richard Stone, a Jew.
