Adam Khatib: Another homegrown British Muslim bomb plotter

When reading about the decline in sanity of Adam Khatib from what initially appeared a reasonable chap into a plotter of mass murder the immediate thought which crossed my mind was why his change in behaviour did not set off alarm bells amongst friends and family.

While its difficult to unearth the inner workings of the spooks involved in this case my suspicions would immediately be raised if a fellow Muslim suddenly went off the rails screaming racist anti Semitic nonsense in class and signing his name as Osama before disappearing to Pakistan. My point is when such a significant bizarre change in behaviour occurs surely the family members must know something is up and tip off the authorities.

My other thought was how does our presence in Afghanistan prevent a character like Khatib from planning mass murder bearing in mind the govt claim we are there to reduce the threat of another terror attack in the UK.
