In a contradictory and at times aggressive speech the Grand Mufti warned Muslims against a "deviant ideology", an implicit reference to Shia Iran.
London Muslim is concerned that House of Saud puppets are allowing their noble religious status to be hijacked by political rantings that seek to divide rather than unite Muslims on this day of celebration. Western policy makers are often quick to finger point at Tehran without acknowledging provocative nonsense emanating from the House of Saud who probably contributed text to some of the ridiculous nonsense in the speech.
London Muslim applauds the Mufi for condemning suicide bombings in unequivocal terms:
“Suicide operations have become a curse of Muslim lands. Innocent men, women and children are killed and their installations wrecked,”
I would add not just in Muslim lands as we in London can testify after 7/7.
However, this ill advised threat to Iran was inappropriate and counterproductive.
"Ignorant people attempt to politicize the Haj aiming to disrupt its safety and create chaos in the land. But Allah will not allow it to happen and the believers will not (accept it). The country is in safe and strong hands that will not tolerate any attempt to destroy this country and shatter its safety".
Muslims require unity from both Iran and Saudi whose leaders have been equally provocative towards each other which only harms the wider Muslim cause. One only has to see how a football match can cause alarming hostility between Muslims to realise provocative statements by the Mufi could cause serious and irreparable harm should an Ayatollah take the bait.
My advice to Mufti's, Ayatollah's etc is united we stand divided we fall.
