Opposition to Minaret in London

Switzerland is not the only place where you will find opposition to the construction of a Minaret.

Brick Lane in East London has seen opposition from a Jewish group and others to the building of not only the Minaret but also the arches. The reason for the opposition appears to be the scale but also because previously it was a synagogue and so constructing a Minaret in one of the most heavily populated Muslim areas in the country would harm cohesion.

London Muslim disagrees and believes the opposition arguments to the construction should focus on architectural merits rather than historic significance of the building.

Muslim Benefit Scroungers

London Muslim has always maintained the need for a safety net Welfare State based on need and with regard to the NHS free at the point of delivery.

However, a number of stories here and here about the abuse of Housing Benefit sadly involves some Muslims asylum seekers producing like rabbits and then not being able to provide or sustain a reasonable standard of living revert to the State for handouts. Miliband agrees to Israeli War Criminal demands

London Muslim was the first blog to report about the issuing of an arrest warrant for the vile Livni.

Events have taken a fairly dramatic turn. No surprise that the Israelites took exception to one of their Mossad golden girls having to face justice for her war crimes in Gaza.

The sequence of events are as follows.

After the issuing of the arrest warrant which was subsequently rescinded once she crapped herself and didn't turn up our ambassador was summoned by the Israelites to get a dressing down and ordered to change the situation to make life easy for visiting war criminals. Subsequently the Israelite ambassador to the Court of St James demanded to see David Miliband in the Israelite controlled UK Foreign Office and rather than the UK Foreign Secretary telling an ambassador from a foreign country that our laws apply to all equally he apologised to Israel:

Not only did our Foreign Secretary capitulate to a foreign power within 24 hours but just to press the point and highlight the influence of the Israel Lobby in the UK, Ivan the Terrible also made it clear that an Israeli war criminal should never have to face justice. The question has to be raised why Miliband and Ivan the Terrible are promoting Israelite fugitives rather than British Interests.

The icing on the cake according to Haaretz has to be Milliband who:

promised Lieberman to begin working immediately to change the UK laws that enable the issue of arrest warrants against Israeli officials accused of war crimes.

Lord Chris Patten former European Tory Commissioner in an amazing attack has accused Israel of a "blood soaked occupation" of Palestine.

Europe's Muslims want to live in mixed areas

Israeli War Criminal Livni cancels UK visit after arrest warant issued

The JC has a report that leading War Crimes suspect Tzipi Livni cancelled her visit to a JNF event on Sunday fearing she would be arrested for her criminal role in the massacre of innocent Palestinians during the Gaza crisis.

Moreover Haaretz are reporting that an arrest warrant was actually issued although Scotland Yard have yet to confirm this.

The JNF claims it is the UK's leading Israeli "humanitarian charity". Although the JNF presents a greenwashed image to the world, its clean image covers a dark reality. The JNF is a body which acquires and administers land in Israel/Palestine for the use of Jews only. At the start of the 20th century this served the purpose of ethnically cleansing the inhabitants of the land that was to become Israel and paving the way for the establishment of the nascent Jewish state.

Salita claims Hate not Amir Khan knocked him out

Dimitry Salita makes a bizarre claim in the JC that anti Semitic chants were responsible for his defeat to Amir Khan rather than explaining it may have contributed to his poor performance.

London Muslim has gone on record condemning the anti Semitic behaviour at the fight however I do feel that this particular outburst by Salita is somewhat disingenuous. Should one follow his logic then any black player in football who is on the receiving end of vile racist monkey chants should be excused from having a bad game. Somehow I recall John Barnes having outstanding games particularly at merseyside derby's when Everton fans threw bananas at him.

London Muslim not only condemned the racist anti Semitic chants by a minority of supporters at the venue but also accepts without hesitation the version of attempts by Salita's Rabbi however, to blame his defeat entirely on the crowd and not mention that he possibly could have beaten by the better fighter slightly diminishes both Salita and his profession in my opinion.

Islamic Relief will be holding its 25th year anniversary gala dinner this week in the presence of HRH Bonnie Prince Charlie.

A report funded by George Soros has found that Muslims in Britain are the most patriotic in Europe.

Clear evidence that we are not that bad after all although of course the alternative way of interpreting this is God help the rest of Europe. However, lets be positive in this period of festive cheer.

My other thought was how does our presence in Afghanistan prevent a character like Khatib from planning mass murder bearing in mind the govt claim we are there to reduce the threat of another terror attack in the UK.

As a result and notwithstanding the possible grotesque incident in the dressing room London Muslim urges QPR to sack Magilton and replace him with Alan Curbishley. A Muslim chef who was sacked from Kingston Hospital for eating a bit of Garlic bread that was due to be thrown away has won his compensation claim for Racial discrimination.

The JC reports that the Rabbi who accompanied Salita witnessed assaults and a torrent of anti Semitic abuse hurled at the Rabbi and other orthodox Jews.

My own view is that these allegations have nothing to do with sour grapes by the Salita entourage. From some of the unspeakable emails I've been getting about Salita and from a simple Google Analytic keyword report about "Muslim beating a Jew" my own data sadly backs up what the Rabbi is saying.

However, without in any sense justifying what clearly appears criminal racist behaviour by a minority of supporters why on earth did Salita seem to try and make his faith paramount to the fight as this report indicates.

I deliberately held back from writing about the "God will help me win fight against Khan" article until after the fight in the full knowledge how provocative it could be to some racist idiots at the fight. From the opposite spectrum Amir Khan did his level best to downplay the religious significance and I discreetly criticised Salita in the same article by saying:

I wonder if Amir Khan and Salita should just keep quiet and not respond to questions about their opponents faith.

A Muslim and a Jew have every right to talk about the importance of their respective faiths however, in the context of a boxing fight I'm afraid its the height of naivety to not expect such talk maybe a red rag for some nutters. Admittedly, a sad indictment of the society we live in.

CNN have an interesting report about the new colourful and trendy aspects of modern Muslim women wearing the abaya with embroidered and designer aspects becoming the norm from what traditionally has often been seen as rather dull conservative attire.

When Faria Alam was shagging her way through the FA Christine Odone wrote an interesting article that still resonates with me.

London Muslim finds it interesting that with the rapid increase in reversion to Islam here in the UK what role the beauty and piety of Muslim women has in reversions and the apparent increasing desire for men to have a Muslim wife.

Christone Odone seemed to imply that because of the beauty and piety of a Muslim women they become in the eyes of some like a convent girl or vicar's daughter ie almost viewed upon as forbidden fruit and as a result all the more intriguing to in particular non Mulsims.

Odone when describing Faria Alam's attraction to Sven said

therein lies her intoxicating appeal. In the eyes of a British (or Swedish) man, the image of the well brought up Muslim totty is a turn-on, in the way that the vicar's daughter and the convent schoolgirl are.

Whatever ones view of this article there is no doubt that beautiful and intelligent Muslim women are in demand increasingly by sportsmen here and here and establishment political families.

George Osborne's brother Reverts to Islam

The Brother of George Osborne the Tory Shadow Chancellor has reverted to Islam in order to marry his beautiful Muslim Wife.

Adam now Mohammad Osborne the younger brother of George married Rahala in a Muslim ceremony which George didn't bother to attend although he turned up to the Western version of the ceremony.

While I have no intention of linking to my articles downplaying the relevance of both faiths (it only encourages them) Perhaps I can educate the appropriately named sheep or is it goat. maybe they are minimising coverage of this Jewish festival to avoid offending their Muslim viewers or maybe the BBC is just not interested in the religious cycle of any faith other than Islam and maybe Christianity
