Fatwa bans Quranic ringtones

Egypt's Grand Mufti has issued a Fatwa banning the use of Quranic ring tones and calls to prayer because it shows a lack of respect.

The logic behind the Fatwa seems to be that once a call is picked up the noble words are interrupted and as a result show disrespect to the words of Allah (swt).

The alternative point of view being that it keeps Muslims in touch with the Quran and thus closer to piety but that appears to have been rejected as an argument for using these ring tones.
