Sadly although these nutters have been seriously provocative most recently with their antics over the now cancelled Muslim march in Wootton Bassett, London Muslim does not support a ban.
In my opinion these hardline fanatics with their extremist views need to have their arguments dissected and debated to show what a marginalised minority they are from the mainstream Muslim view in the country.
As Voltaire said I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it

I just found your blog through Twitter, so will be having a thorough read, it looks very interesting.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts on Islam4UK and BNP... both are cowardly, ignorant and hateful racist organisations, who spout their divisive nonsense within the safe confines of a country which has laid down many lives to defend freedom and free speech.
Those who gave their lives to ensure these people have that freedom would be ashamed.
Both these groups have the unfortunate effect of driving intelligent and sensible people from the opposing demographic, to their opposite extremist platform, thus perpetuating the hate.
To those of us who think for ourselves, the whole thing is a disgrace. To Islam4UK and the BNP however, this is exactly what they want.
They both justify their hatred and racism by pointing at the racism and hatred from the other side, ignoring the views of the sane majority.
Banning either side serves only to make them shout louder, which in turn fuels the deluded reasoning of the other.
I have no idea what the answer is, but we are moving into dangerous territory.
One observation... if Islam4UK and BNP believe their sick ideology is so just, why aren't they on the frontline in Afghanistan or Iraq?
Cowards, the lot of them.
As I said a while back, lets debate them not ban them. I agree with your stance on the issue.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be pedantic, but Voltaire did not say that.
