Lib Dem Muslim Mayor in Camden arrested

Camden Mayor Omar Faruque has been arrested on suspicion of falsely claiming disability benefits.

He has been suspended from his position as Mayor by the Lib Dem Group pending further investigation on these allegation.

  4. He's believed to have been giving favours on an "Muslim Asian only" basis. An African owned restaurant was denied planning permission on an otherwise all Asian Muslim road.

    Camden has been getting TENSE.
