Muslim and Christian tension rise in Malaysia

With the number of Churches being firebombed by Muslim fanatics continuing to rise the Mayalsian Prime Minister currently on a visit to Saudi Arabia has described the situation as a "minor aberration"

Sadly London Muslim strongly disagrees and as I have said previously Malaysian Muslims should be deeply ashamed about the attacks on Christian churches.

The main reason I highlighted the tension in Malaysia last year about the use of the term Allah was because it seemed fairly inevitable that the tension may lead to violence if not carefully and sensitively handled.

Unfortunately, in my opinion UMNO through their cohorts like Yusri Mohammad of the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement have intentionally sought to politicise and muddy the waters between religion and politics as well as religion and race through attempting to imply Islam equates to Malays.

Ironically the Islamic opposition PAS, support the Christian demand to use the term Allah and have an eloquent spokesman in opposition MP Khalid Samad.

Once again Christians should be allowed to use the word Allah as they were doing before Muslims and the Government should stop continuing through the use of legal manoeuvres by the Attorney General trying to make political capital by attempting to incite Muslim Malays against the Christian Minority.
