No justification for child marriage in Islam

Following my earlier post about the disgusting 80 year old Saudi Pervert who married a child bride aged 11, London Muslim is relieved that leading Saudi Ulema have issued a Fatwa which condemns this practice.

Justification by dirty old Saudi men has been based on the example of the Prophet (pbuh) marrying Aisha. However, Sheikh Abdullah al Maine has stated the Aisha marriage "cannot be equated with current child marriages because the conditions and circumstances are not the same".

  1. Not only can it not be equated, we do not know what Hadhrat Aisha Siddeeqa's real age at the time of marriage was apart from the fact that she was young. Historians have put her as old as 19 at the consummation of marriage.

For the lower age of 9 at consummation, 6 at proposal, she would have had to been born two years after the Prophet (saw) declared prophethood and then willingly chosen to at the grand age of two to migrate to Abyssinia with her father.

If this was the case, why would the age of Hadhrat Ali (ra), for having chosen Islam at the age of ten be all that mentioned as a surprising thing when a two year old made bigger decisions?
