Apparently the severity of the punishment was based on the fact that the phone had a camera.
One has to say the Saudi authorities are increasingly going off the rails with their bizarre and inhumane punishment largely targeting females under the guise of Sharia.
The people in Saudi that need flogging are the hypocrites in the House of Saud who keep the casinos of Monte Carlo and Monaco in business.
When non muslims confront muslims about these type of things - it's kind of hard to make people believe that it's these people who are retards, not Islam.

There must be more to the story; the source quoted in the link above is a die-hard Islamophobic newspaper (and has a tendency to twist things) - I have recently been reading it daily, to get a view of the BNP members that comment on it.
ReplyDeleteI remember a story some week ago, about plans for schools to take Islamic holidays too. At least that was the headline. Upon reading the article, it transpired that it was religious holidays (Hindu, Sikh, Islamic etc).
