Saudi marries 11 year old

A Saudi in his eightees has married an 11 year old girl against the wishes of the mother.

The father of the girl seemed to sum up Saudi society by pocketing a nifty dowry while saying he does not care about her age or her mother's wishes.

The dirty old Perv has 3 other wife's.

  1. estaughfurlullah. How can this happen - that poor unfortunate girl will be disturbed for the rest of her life - this is worse than child trafficking, at least traffikers see themselves as criminals and their trade as a crime. These people?! I am sick to my stomach. Sick.

  2. Wat surprises me with that article is the comments. The comments are a lot of discussion about some Talmud law about when a kid was raped ans what to do with her dowry.
Was this guy a Jew? Nuhuh, but let's point to the splinters in other people's eyes.
Fascinating how the complete disregard for the wishes of his wife and daughter of the father, and his obvious greed don't seem to be the main cause for outrage.
One commenter even said that it wasn't pedophilia, because pedophiles only get attracted to kids and not to adults, and this man is married 3 times already, so obviously he BEEPs adults too.
It is so disheartening that there is no smarter race on this world than the human race.

  3. Where the dowry/Mahr goes is an important issue - If it can be stopped being used as a bribe, the father will have less motivation to force his daughter into marriage.

A Mahr is for the wife to keep, not for her father to plunder.

Age of marriage is a different issue and different countries have different minimum ages (mostly above 14 afaik) and this also needs to be dealt with, but dealing with the issue of marriage comprehensively will also fix problems for Saudis who are not eleven.

The whole system needs to be made more Islamic. and in a conservative society such as Saudi, any malpractices need to be condemned by the religious authorities through valid and strong fatwas.
