A report published yesterday by Exeter's European Research Center and written by a former Scotland Yard Counter Terrorism Officer has blamed the rise in hate towards Muslims on the Media and politicians.
However specifically the report also mentions the book Londonistan written by Melanie Phillips as being as being responsible for triggering the rise in hate.
Yesterday was Holocaust Memorial Day when we remember amongst others like the Gypsies and Soviet Prisoners of War the Jews who perished in the Gas Chambers following a period of hate targeting Jews by Nazis.
Muslims are constantly being asked to condemns the extremists within our midst. Well Melanie Phillips is a Jew. London Muslim believes it is time the Jewish community started to take responsibility for the actions and words of one of their own extremists. A growing industry of Jewish politicians like Robert Halfon, bloggers like Harry's Place and commentators like Phillips are spewing their nonsense against Muslims on an increasingly regular basis. As this report makes clear we Muslims need to be aware the hate against us is ironically being driven by books written by Jews who of all people having suffered so much should be ashamed of themselves.

No I dont think so. I think all of the hate is being driven by terrorists and Islamic revolutionary uprisings that are turning the world upside down by killing and slaughtering people like in Iran, Sudan, Afghantistan and others.
ReplyDeleteThe only time anyone has a case - be they Jew, or Christian or whatever - is when they have evidence to back it up with.
Who gives the evidence for people to back up their anti-Islamic claims? Who provides it?
We do. You cant just blame everyone else for it London Muslim, the Jews don't rule our own actions.
We're in the age of media now - people can see devastation on their TV screens (like with the Vietnam war).
The time for the "liar liar pants on fire" argument has passed.
Clearly the hate against Islam is a conspiracy and those in power in the Western world have a collective policy of driving this hate campaign through books, film and media, just look at who the film directors and book writers are as well as the owners of press and media outlets .. need i say more. Mind you, in light of this, us Muslims should get smarter too, but all too often we fall in their trap and give them just the ticket they need to make us out to be the bogeyman !
ReplyDeleteFunny, and I thought that with excellent people like Noam Shelef (http://peacenow.org), Ibn Ezra (http://josephdana.com) and initiatives like Breaking the Silence (www.shovrimshtika.org/index_e/asp) this was actually happening.
ReplyDeleteI actually find more sites of Jews speaking out against their own terrorists than Muslims speaking against their terrorists, but I'd be very happy to be corrected.
Rather than an “account of the extremists within your midst” I would like to know what Muslims like London Muslim think of the quarter or a third of British Muslims who believe, for example, that a Muslim woman cannot marry a non-Muslim, death is an acceptable punishment for apostasy, that a face veil is acceptable though the great majority of Britons detest them, and would rather live under Sharia law, and to have an explanation of why I should not be deeply concerned about Muslims who believe such things.

"Media and politicians". Yes they play a big part in the rising hate against Muslims.
ReplyDeleteThe media will interview the fist-waving psycho, but not the well-mannered Muslim. Consistently.
The policians in their quest to please their masters, the Zios, with their constant attack on anything Islamic.
Both media and politicians are drip-feeding their respective countries with a story or allegation at approximately the rate of once a week - 'out of sight, out of mind'.
But Muslims too are to blame; all leaders in the (so-called) Islamic nations. They are a bunch of cowards. They are more interested in their decadent ways, than in the state of the Ummah. The sooner these parasites are removed, and replaced by good, honest Muslims, the better.
Anonymous, rather than your questions here, why not seek the answers from your local Mosque or Islamic centre? Alternatively, you could try www.islam-qa.com. With regards to marriage to a non-Muslim, read the Quran; al-Baqarah (2:221) and al-Mutahanah (60:10). I probably won't be back at this site, therefore there is no point in relying to me.
The problem with the media (and I work in the media so I have some idea) is that the loudest and most extreme elements get the publicity simply because they are the loudest and most extreme.
ReplyDeleteTV News (and print news to a lesser extent) depends on visually interesting events that provoke emotion. Hence, a bunch of people waving placards and calling for violent action get air time while reasonable individuals having a civilised debate don't.
All I can say is that when you see people speaking in your name (randoms talking about death to the queen or sharia law or whatever) and using your belief as justification, you have to get out there...
Disown these idiots, make the public realise they are as isolated and unwelcome as neo-nazis and flat-earthers.
Most non-muslims see these extremists and wonder if they are the true face of islam. They are not, but you have to get out there and let people know.
These nutjobs are hijacking your religion. It hacks me off and I say this as an atheist! Don't let your belief system become a byword for violence and intolerance.
