France's answer to McDonalds has decided to sell only Halal meats in its restaurants to testy the growing Halal market in France.
The move has led to a huge outcry from the usual assortment of Islamophobes and fellow travellers. Anyone would think their are regional elections next month.

Nothing I like more than knowing the meat I eat comes from an animal that has had it's throat cut, while alive, and left to bleed to death. It's absolutely barbaric and medieval. The same goes for the Jews who perform it.
ReplyDeleteYou're against faith schools and pro women's rights London Muslim so why do you support such barbaric acts in the name of religion? Surely blessing a normally killed animal or having it unconcious before slitting it's throat would be a better compromise for today's world?
Why are you living in the past? Along with Muslims covering their faces Ninja style (we have no problem with headscarves) and you'll understand why so many Britons find Islam unsettling. When in Rome you know....
Your post would have some merit if the method of slaughter was actually barbaric.

Animal rights activists should argue to have the "modern" barbaric methods of killing animals banned since they cause pain and suffering.
Back to original topic, It seems that atleast one French council wants to sue (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8524056.stm) in order to be served not halaal meat since they find it discriminatory to have more people being allowed to eat the meat than when there was no halaal alternative.
