London Muslim has previously highlighted the peculiar Muslim political characters who are increasingly defecting to the Tories. You may recall Lib Dem belly dancer Norsheen "Kick up the" Bhatti and Mohammad "two chin" Asghar.
The latest Muslim sellout is the well fed Dr Anwara Ali a GP and councillor in Tower Hamlets who claims with presumably a bit of encouragement from Dave and his Eton boys that the NHS over the past decade has seen millions wasted on bureaucracy.
This government has many failures not least in Foreign Policy but the NHS is not a failure. One only has to recall the dark Tory days of annual winter crisis in hospitals, weeks to see a GP etc to appreciate what life was like under a Tory NHS.

Speaking as someone who has had to endure seeing my own father left in a pool of his own faeces for ages on an NHS stroke ward and many other sorts of neglect and abuse, AND having experienced other, numerous, serious NHS failures over recent years - both personally and via friends and family - I would have to say you are completely WRONG about this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very great pity you don't apply the same degree of critical questioning to your Labour Party membership as you do to your faith and your football team! :<
Naturally very saddened to hear the experience of your father.
ReplyDeleteMy father has suffered 3 CVA's and is currently in the stroke unit of a London Hospital after his latest stroke. The service from all the medical staff has been excellent.
I recall my mother encountering renal failure during Thatcher's NHS years and frankly in my opinion Thatcher should be on Manslaughter charges for her criminal neglect and underfunding of the NHS.
Labour need to continue to raise their game as Stafford shows however on funding Labour have without a doubt raised funding to historic highs after years of Tory underfunding.
Thanks for the response.
ReplyDeleteI am not at all convinced that the money has been spent wisely.
I have experience myself or via friends and family of various hospitals in London, Essex, Sussex, Hampshire, Bristol, South Wales, etc and almost all of it is bad and far too much of it is very cruel, ignorant, dangerous and wasteful, so if your father is being treated in one of the islands of excellence that remain you should be very grateful. You and he are very lucky indeed.
From what I've seen NuLabour have failed to establish a decent, efficient, humanitarian, informed culture in most parts of the NHS. :<
