Burkini coming to London

Apparently teachers in Ealing have been given details of an online company that sells the Burkini after Ealing Council recommended that Muslim girls should be allowed to wear the Burkini during Swimming lessons. Fantastic news.
**Update** Nigella Lawson the "domestic Goddess" wears the Burkini

  1. Curious. They still look like slim, shapely, pretty young girls to me. ;-)

  4. If the muslim women have made their own decision to be very strict in their islamic believe and culture, for example with a wholebodied bathingsuite, I think it's their own business. As long as they accept hygienic demands and shower themselves before and after going into public pools as everyone else, it's fine with me. The shape of the bathingsuite reminds a lot of the suite the way the competitors wear at swimcompetitions look... They just have different intentions.

  5. Try to be openminded! It's not about their looks, it's about their belief! If some muslim women don't want to expose their bodies, what's the harm in that? They probably don't want to reveale their torso 'til the upper arm and from waist 'til knee. So what? Nice with diversity! And as a blonde blue-eyed young woman as I am, I sometimes is very sick of all this exposure all around. Less is best? I don't think so! Follow your own heart and don't judge each other by first look! Embrace the fact that we are different and find the joy in that!

  6. I have to be honest... I'm not Muslim, but I'd even wear one of those. I don't see the issue with someone who wants to wear something like this. If you want to be strict to your religion, that is your choice. And personally, with the issues I have finding a "conservative" bathing suit, sure, I'd consider wearing one as my own personal choice. I personally wouldn't wear the head cover, but the rest of it, sure.
