MP's demand investigation into Prevent programme and spy allegations

London Muslim has criticised the Prevent programme as a gimmick and only yesterday highlighted a specific example of how it is being used to spy on the Muslim community.

Today the Communities and Local Government select Committee published a report calling for an investigation into the spying allegations and correctly arguing that is has alienated and stigmatised the Muslim community.

The Select Committee is chaired by the excellent Phyllis Starkey and not surprisingly the Government has sadly rejected the reports findings.
