London Muslim understands the sentiment behind the concerns about anti semitic comments made by the otherwise fantastic pro Palestinian supporting Linton who was responsible for the establishment of the Labour Friends of Palestine. Martin Linton is not an anti semite but what he said was wrong and sloppy and he was right to apologise something that does not happen when MP's offend Muslims with equally vile racist comments.
However, while London Muslim has vigorously campaigned for a Parliamentary Inquiry into Islamophobia I will have no truck with comments that refer to Israel's "tentacles" a historical derogatory terms about Jewish influence and money.
London Muslim is more than happy to highlight Jewish influence in our politics and sadly for that matter the lack of Muslim influence but I do it on the basis not of any anti Semitic connotation but admiration and a desire for my own community to emulate it.
I hope this gets spread around all the Mosques and Shisha Palaces in Martin Linton's constituency.

As it stands the Lib Dem candidates have no chance in Battersea
in a true democracy - it should be one man, one vote. All lobby groups subvert the democratic process because they bypass the voters and 'buy' the votes of MPs.
ReplyDeleteOther groups can try to emulate the Jews but they can never outspend the Jews. If the Jews had to rely on Jewish votes rather than money their influence on elections would be practically zero.
Don't forget it was the power of the Jewish lobby which got Britain to kick the Turks out of Palestine paving the way for the state of Israel and it is the Jewish lobby which agitated for the war in Iraq and they are still lobbying hard for a war against Iran.
