Marlon King the Former Wigan player has reverted to Islam while serving time for assault.
Apparently he is now praying 5 times a day and is completing his rehabilitation by regularly praying and reading the Quran.

the word revert is used because in the hadith it is said that every baby is born a muslim and hence the word revert is used
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting, where you get your converts from. In America, we have over 250,000 Muslim prison inmates (2005 estimate). Apparently, years of immoral behavior, drinking, and drugs bring them to a mental state where they convert. This underscores the degree of brain damage caused by drinking and drugs.
ReplyDeleteWHY THE WORD "REVERT" USED, NOT "CONVERT"?
ReplyDeleteIslam, the religion of peace, the very word means "peace acquired by submitting one's will to Lord Almighty". When a child is born, unless he/she is influenced by the surrounding environment(i.e peoples, places, behavior, practises, etc), he/she is in complete submission to Lord ALmighty and thus by definition he/she is a muslim. When he/she is influenced by the environment and choses another way of life, he/she went astray and when he, at some stage of life, realizes the truth and embraces Islam, then he/she's actually choosing the same state of submission to Allah when he/she was at the time of birth. That's why it is said the he/she reverted to Islam and not converted.
