Aravane Rezai set to be first Muslim female Tennis Grand Slam winner

With the French Tennis Championship starting at Roland Garos in Paris keep and eye out on the French Iranian Muslim tennis sensation Aravane Rezai.

Whats impressive about Rezai is not just her talent but the story of how with her father's support she overcame the hardship of a difficult upbringing and racism that saw both Aravane and her Dad banned from Roland Garos to achieve her current status.

Living in a caravan because they had no money and learning to play Tennis in the snow has helped develop Rezai's character as a determined fighter which should bode well for a fantastic future in Tennis inshallah (God Willing).

London Muslim wishes Sister Aravane the very best and looks forward to seeing her at Wimbledon.

  1. I am Iranian and am really proud of Aravane. I really am happy that London Muslim have such good wish toward Aravane. It shows that not political nor geographical differences can keep us of having good willing toward our muslim brother and sisters. Thanks to all London Muslims again.

  2. You go girl.

I figured she was Muslim by her looks and I couldn't square her name and looks with being French, now I get it.

  3. It is a nice story about learning to play in snow but the girl is rather ugly and I promise you she will never win a grand slam. The other problem is Ahmadinejad is human scum and anyone who gives him gifts is a filthy dog.

  4. Most probably she does not even give a shit to Islam like most Iranians to whom this fanatical ideology is imposed. if she was "muslim" she would be stupid enough to listen to the bullshits of Coran and cover her hair.

  5. As a Muslim, it's nice to see someone like Aravane Rezai being successful, but let's not forget that many Muslims will praise her for representing the advance of Muslim women in sports but when it suits them, they'll attack her for being a bad Muslim, etc.
