Cllr Asad Omar has been unanimously confirmed as the first Muslim Mayor of Harrow.
Following a long and respected career where he has been engaged in numerous voluntary activities Cllr Omar is a worthy and deserving Mayor who has made clear he intends to serve all communities.
London Muslim hopes the Nazis are watching in order to get used to Muslims democratically assuming positions of authority not on the basis of faith or race but on the basis of merit. Cllr Omar dedicates his appoitment to his wife who recently passed away.
