Amid growing public anger in Malaysia organised by the opposition PAS the Malaysian government has finally bowed to public pressure and scrapped a sports betting licence.
London Muslim acknowledges the argument about illegal betting by bringing it within the ambit and control of the State however, Malaysia's billionaire Vincent Tan is not popular and the wishes of Malaysia's Muslims must be acknowledged which is why I welcome the decision of Prime Minister Najib to reverse his earlier plan to award the betting licence.
