While the attack was shocking on an innocent Muslim and her daughter who also suffered racial abuse I find the lack of national press or broadcast coverage almost equally disgusting.
Perhaps the lack of coverage from the likes of Murdoch, Richard Desmond and Ted Jeory is because the climate of Islamophobia they are promoting with their obsessive coverage about Islam is now unleashing a racist backlash against we Muslims who are facing the consequences of an unleashed torrent of racism that they have helped create.

This is a very sad and very terrible thing, that Muslims are being lynched in the street in the same way Black people were in 50's & 60's America.
ReplyDeleteAll of this hate is tragic, sad and depressing.
This is the fruit of mindless terrorism, placards stating "Islam will rule the world", and senseless marches and demonstrations in placed where soldiers are coming home from war.
The Muslims have done this to the Muslims.
For every actual attack on a Muslim, there are probably 100 people who wanted to attack, and didn't

Don't exaggerate, it's ignorant. No-one forced British Muslims to come here and then turned on them and hung them by ropes in the street. Sure, being attacked like that is horrible, but do NOT think it's the same experience, it isn't.
Excuse me - being British Muslim does not mean that you ''came here''. The number of converts to Islam, particularly women, is huge, and Islam is the fastest growing religion in Europe. Do you suggest that they should be made to leave the country for converting? Secondly, there are second generation, third generation 4th generation etc Muslims who have also been born in this country and are full British citizens, who have paid their taxes. They have as much right to walk down the street without being lynched as a ''white'' person or non-muslim.
