A Poll conducted by singlemuslim.com has not surprisingly found that Muslims seek a devout pious individual when looking for the ideal marriage partner.
London Muslim had to laugh because what exactly do you expect Muslims to say, "oh I much prefer that slapper from University". Lets be honest for all the beards and hijabs one sees amongst the youth there is massive hypocrisy also within the Muslim community. Yes of course there are devout brothers and sisters but I would be more interested in a poll about what proportion of these very same individuals who seek a devout partner are themselves virgins and did not sleep around when at university before suddenly discovering their pious side just before marriage.

piety is secret muslim code word for "virginity" - I would wager that most people would overlook lack of certain Islamic fundamentals in return for a hymen.
ReplyDeleteBesides - I have noticed (in UK anyway) that the vast majority of Muslim men marry non-Muslim women, or moderately Muslim women, finding too much piety a turn off (not to mention difficulty in accessing)
Its a problem for all of society in the UK. But this is the UK where you are free to do as you please and to use your own brain.

Im muslim and can make my own decisions, no need for a mob controlling the law.

I personally am not really into the world-weary cynical mood-music tone, though I was born in the early 1390s (1970s CE).
