BBC defends EastEnders Koran Outrage

The BBC has refused to apologise for gay character Syed Masood throwing a copy of the Koran despite a number of complaints.

The BBC which under the leadership of DG Mark Thompson is unlikely to apologise to Muslims because when he gets home he has to account to an Israelite wife and was a secret friend of Ariel Sharon.

  1. Yes, well Eastenders is a bunch of people PRETENDING THINGS in front of a Camera - thats the whole point of drama basically - pretending things in front of a camera.

So, errr, like...why don't muslims get that?

  2. Because its a religious book NOT A PRETENDING QURAN WHY BRING RELIGION INTO A DRAMA

If you a Muslim you cant be gay why does Eastenders have non Muslims pretending to be Muslims

MUSLIMS LOVE THEIR RELIGION AND QURAN ITS NOT A JOKE TO PRETEND THROWING IT

  3. Oh please, get over yourself. Why bring religion into a drama?

Because religion is about life and drama is too. Any form of art is reflective of, or a comment on the world we live in. Are you saying Islam is about the prohibition of all forms of art?

We already know it forbids the expression of the self through music - but this applies to drama, art and literature too?

And you can't be gay if you're a Muslim?

Well, tell that to all the wealthy Saudi's who used to and probably still do, throng certain parts of London looking for rent boys. Religion doesn't define sexuality - which I think was the whole point of this particular story-arc on Eastenders. Sadly, it can and often does, cause conflict within an individual torn between the two poles.

Oh, for some tolerance - a word Islam is clearly not familiar with or fond of!

  4. Eastenders is a program which is in any case a person with any culture or sense would be ashamed of watching. Why they have to disrespect a holy book we hold dear is beyond me? I understand it is just acting but if they had used a fake quran we wouldnt have minded. However it appears to be the actual book. I think these people should be ashamed of themselves firstly for disrespecting a holy book which teaches tolerance and love between mankind. Secondly for lacking all sense on how to improve relations between religions in this country.

  5. To anonymous, if you think u are very smart- sitting their defending quite an idiotic drama. try to acquire some sense and knowledge before u speak. people of understanding clearly know that u cant judge a religion on the actions of 'saudis', to judge a religion u judge it on its original scriptures and teachings. so ur comment is pointless. another FACT, U CAN'T BE A GAY MUSLIM- because its clearly stated sodomy is not allowed so 'Religion doesn't define sexuality' again holds no value. clearly a little research wouldnt go a miss.
oh the final point 'Oh, for some tolerance - a word Islam is clearly not familiar with or fond of!', this is another point you've made which has no value, Islam is full of tolerance and such beautiful and magnificent values. and please do ur self a favour, before u jump on the 'anti Islam' bandwagon which appears to be the new thing for brainwashed puppets. spend some time actually reading the Qur'an and religious scriptures so u know exactly what it is ur talking about. thank you

  6. ^ I second that !!!!!
It's soo very tedius and very much frustrating to see how these " brainwashed puppets" believe anything they are told without any of them actually bothering to think for themselves. Do some research before you go around even tryingg to make a point -.-
Islam is a beautiful religion with many values and strong beliefs; ignorant people go around giving it a bad rep! Eastenders continues to offend its Muslim viewers and apologises on occassions yet never ceases to draw its offending storylines to a halt. Its protryal of that Muslim family isnt even anywhere accurate so i suggest THEY also do some research .
