Muslims and Jews unite in opposition to EU food labelling

London Muslim previously highlighted the growing unity between Muslims and Jews in opposition to the labelling of Halal and Kosher Food by the EU.

Martin Hickman wrote about a group of Jewish and Muslim leaders led by the Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks calling this vote by the European Parliament "naked discrimination".

In order for labelling to come into force it needs a vote by member states.

  1. And just think twenty years ago there was no halal meat here and very little kosher, oh how your influence and population has grown.

  2. The irony is that Muslims eat non-Halal meat, because they are happy with self styled Muslim business people declaring anything of profitable to them as Halal.

Jewish supplies of Kosher meat is better because they slaughter theirs in countries such as Peru, Brazil etc for export to EU and USA. Can Muslims invest Halal production facilities in North Africa, and supply Muslims with fair Halal meat?

If we loved ourselves in the first place,, we wouldn't be bothering peaceful people of Europe by debating over Halal products.

Excuse me but do you even know how foood is made to be 'Halal' for Muslims ?!
Because if you did you would realise that unlike kosher meat, Halal food is easily available due to the simple fact that a prayer is read when the chicken/lamb/goat meat is cut which is easily done by the Muslim butchers as opposed to Jewish butchers preparingg the kosher food (which is time consuimg as more costly) as dictated by the Torah. Therefore i believe it is only common sense to realise that Halah food is efficiently available so there is no need for production facilities. Food is made Halal by praying so where would the Muslim butchers seek to make false profit anyway?! =S
I myself am 16 and realise all this, perhaps you should think before you speak. Thanku.
