Not really. Went there with family for some religious thing years back. Way too much plastic and too shiny marble in the Mecca mosque, tacky. If you are looking for true beauty and history, go to the lovely mosques of Cairo. Worst memory of Saudi Arabia, getting my bum pinched and groped by some some 40 something Arab guy in their traditional cape, and did I mention I was TEN YEARS OLD! sheesh.
