  1. 'Nazi French'? Will you be writing about 'Nazi Swedes' tomorrow? http://durotrigan.blogspot.com/2010/09/sweden-democrats-to-make-poll.html

Strangely enough, you might like to know that I've come across a Jew-hating ideology that believes in a Herrenvolk (Ummah) and Untermenschen (kufr) and militaristic global conquest (Jihad). As for the French, they like varied local cheeses, fine wines, let in people from across the globe and allow them to follow their own traditions and faiths. The French encourage freedom of thought and debate, whereas the followers of a certain religion demand unthinking conformity and adherence to the 'truth' of a single book (Qur'an/Mein Kampf). Who are the real Nazis, dear reader?

  2. Dearest Dutotrigan, please consider that freedom and liberty are not ideas that can be limited to only those we agree with. I think the reason this is interesting is that the Roma were also persecuted during Nazi rule. Any time a government seeks to unevenly apply freedom, or liberty, it runs the risk of becoming a fascist state. This is not about hating Jewish people, but rather learning from the potent lessons of history. The Jews, the Roma, the mentally and physically handicapped, the people who spoke out against the state, the people who were different, the people who were odd - they were persecuted and few people fought against that. The idea is that we not repeat history out of ignorance and fear. The idea is that we, as communities and nations, do not inadvertently become the oppressors.

Who are the real Nazis? That is an excellent question. I think all people have the capacity to strike out against the things they do not understand.
