Mohammed has been announced as England most popular name by the Office of National Statistics when all the different spelling versions are combined.
The Torygraph are not happy and claim that the name is going to cause problems for "us", the article written by the appropriately named Damien.
MONOTONE CRUSH

Being english it scares the shit out of me, do we really want England to turn into a Islamic country, I don't think so. I've never heard of such a cruel religion, that talks about peace, but is lying.
ReplyDeleteHow the hell do you tell it each other apart if your women are covered head to toe, and you men all have the same name, madness.
But I suppose it fools the infidel
What ignorant hysteria, sounds like Hollywood Hype. "England turning into an Islamic country" - get a sense of proportion & mathematical common sense. First in order for that to happen, surely it would require 51% of the population being enfranchised Muslims who ALL vote monolithically for an Islamic state, of which there are no obvious examples e.g. 99% Muslim Turkey is not an Islamic country, but a country of Muslims. No serious demographic study has shown that this will be the case, now or in the future.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a case of most many besieged Muslim minority giving combination names including variants of Muhammed, while the majority non-Muslims not having any preference for any particular name. The prosaic mathematical reality is not very attractive to the doom & gloom perpetually paranoid & miserable brigade.
"Cruel religion talking of peace & lying" -Can an inanimate abstract thing do such a thing?
I got half way down the reply. I too am alarmed by the news of the top baby name. this mainly derives thrrough mass immigration and blinkered conformism. I am a very tolerant and mix-relations type of person, but the constant opression and near bullying by the fractions of the muslim 'religion', (and religion is used loosely as others from outside it dont know what islam truly stands for anymore!!!!) make me fear for what was a open and welcoming Britain. No denying the case that immigration and the slow, relentless bullying and opressive techniques of your religion and people have made my space, this country and indeed this world a very fragile and cloudy place to live. Peace on earth I say, but doubtful in my lifetime..
ReplyDeleteafter approval???? A new gorvernment in waiting perhaps!? This is a country of free speech...well it was until human rights got in the way
