Did you know that Ivan Lewis the former Vice Chair of the Labour Friends of Israel and Jewish MP for Bury South is a text pest or according to the Sun a Sex Text pest.
Lewis has been named Shadow Culture Secretary for a Dept that has responsibility for mobile phone regulation and given his prolific texting to Susie Mason after he dumped his wife one wonders if Lewis is a fit and proper individual to be shadowing the Culture portfolio.
I raise this in response to Guido again pursuing Sadiq Khan and now his family following Sadiq's promotion to Shadow Justice Secretary not because I don't want Guido holding Sadiq accountable but because if its ok for Muslim Shadow Ministers to be targeted then its also ok for Jewish Shadow Ministers to be similarly targeted.

I applaud you making clear here that anyone is accountable. I question why a Jewish MP should be especially singled out. Anyone should mean everyone where suspicion exists. I have good friends who are Muslim and other good friends who are Jewish. Why can that not be?
The trouble is that the temperature is steadily rising and we will all eventually suffer as a result.
agree about the temp rising however, my point is about consistency or the lack of it elsewhere. Alternatively on reducing temperature just look at the articles I have posted about Muslims and Jews united in Harrow or Muslims and Sikhs united in Southall.

I have attacked Muslim twats, rapists, criminals govt's etc in equal measure most recently the Saudi Gay Killer Prince. You would be hard pushed to find a UK Muslim blog that has done all of the above.
However, in keeping with being an equal opportunity slagger offer unlike GF or Harry's Place I will not censor myself when it comes to for example Jewish politicians like Ivan Lewis or the Qantas Jewish fanatic.
The bar for Muslims has been raised to a higher level which is why I continue to point out the inconsistency. When God Willing we are treated equally and are free to highlight inappropriate behaviour by all people of faith and no faith without fear or favour then my job is complete.
Agree wholeheartedly with your conclusion here, save that I speak from a non-theist position.
ReplyDeleteI do not judge people by religion but by their behaviour. This very morning, a Bosnian Muslim has visited me and, in passing, invited me to stay at his house there. I will certainly take him up on this at some time. I am not prejudiced against anyone of any religion, provided they pursue it peaceably and with respect to their host nation which may not be their own, as is the case with me.

OK LM. Got your post but only just. Understand the problem and sorry for my rudeness when I thought you had pulled out.
Substantively, the fact that Khan is Muslim is not “the only reason for this story”. It is about repeated expenses cheating, unacceptable whatever faith or none; incompatible representations made to different audiences, OK a political staple but still not on; some worrying links that are too close to base to ignore; then two points, one of which is tangentially linked to Islam. If the other is linked (Dizaei), then it raises more questions than it answers.
It is my opinion that there is too much that is unsavoury about this man, before the issue of faith raises its contentious head, for him to be in his new job. Given the very well publicised expenses scandal, it is not good enough just to have clean hands, one has to be seen to be so.
Mr Khan has failed in that essential respect, it seems to me.
