The papers this morning in the UK are currently engaged in a orgy of stories about Muslim weekend schools apparently teaching Muslim youngsters amongst other things how to chop off a persons hand.
The allegations center around an investigation by the BBC's Anti Islam correspondent Jon Ware who in tonight's Panorama show at 8.30 pm will seek to outline depending on which paper you read that these schools teach kids how to chop off thieves hands, a bit of Homophobia , Jews taking over the world, and anything not caught by the above then just general all round hate for youngsters.
LM has not seen the programme so clearly its rather premature to comment in detail about the allegations which have been so painstakingly leaked to the press however, I am to say the least very sceptical about anything from John Ware. John Ware is a bit of a comedian with considerable form who is part of the growing industry if not army within the BBC that specialise in Anti Muslim programmes and all on the back of Muslim license fee money.
However, notwithstanding the above as my regular readers know I oppose all faith schools including Muslim ones so taking into account the Catholic sex abuse stories I do hope people of reason begin to understand that all faiths schools are wrong and divisive not just the Muslim ones Panorama highlights.
Monday evening should be interesting viewing because if you wanted a starter then C4 have a disturbing programme about Pakistani Muslim suicide bombing at 8pm.

Culture and race is always a factor in a child's life. To deny the importance of race and culture is not only insulting to Muslim children, it also risks causing unnecessary confusion and distress. Cultural Identity is particuluraly significant for a child. Little attention is paid to the child' cultural background. There is a social and economic pressure on bilingual Muslim children that they must speak English, adopt British values and ditch their religious beliefs, to assimilate into this country rather than maintain their cultural traditions and historical ties. Speaking English does not promote integration into British society and broadens opportunities. The result of such a policy is that British schooling is guilty of producing Muslim youths who are angry, frustrated and extremist. Majority of them leave schools with low grades. The number of Muslim youths is on the increase in prisons. Anti-social behaviour and drug addiction is on the increase. They find themselves cut off from their cultural heritage and are unable to enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. Thanks to British schooling.
Living togather requires quite simply, an acceptance of the others, of the way in which (the other) is dressed.
It is absurd to believe that Muslim schools, Imams and Masajid teach Muslim children anti-Semitic, homophobic and anti-western views. It is dangerously deceptive and misleading to address text books and discuss them out of their historical, cultural and linguistic context. Muslims were already disproportionately being targeted by police with programmes such as the Prevent project. Focusing on Muslim schools for investigation would tell Muslim young people "you are different" and further alienate them. Singling out Muslim schools threatened to add to already "dangerous" levels of Islamophobia, which he compared to the amount of anti-semitism in the 1920s and 1930s.
It is not wrong to teach children that Jews are committing the same cruelty in Palistine what German did to them before or during Second World War. It is not wrong to teach children that anti-social behaviour, drinking, drugs, homosexuality, sex before marriage, teenage pregnancies and abortions are western values and Islam is against all such sins. This does not mean that Muslim schools teach children to hate westerners, Jews and homosexuals.
Extremism, homophobia and anti-Semistism are nothing to do with Islamic teachings and beliefs. Islam does not teach that Jews and Christians are pigs and monkeys. The Policy Exchange Think-tank should concentrate on institutionally racist British schooling with chicken racist teachers. Muslim parents do not want their children with behaviour probems that include unprovoked aggression, promiscuity, violence, eating disorder, bullying and alcohal. According to ATL, teachers believe behaviour is worse than it was five years ago, with even five year olds being disrespectful, intimidating and violent. This is the true picture of British borken society and the Muslim community does not want to be integrated.

ReplyDeleteBut then you wouldn't be able to live for free on benefits that the rest of britain pays. You wouldn't have time for all your studies if you worked 10 hours a day as most brits do.
What was the ONS figure, 50% of muslim men, and 75% of muslim women are on benefits here, they do not work at all. So you have all the time in the world to study your religion, at the expense of the british society you so denigrate.
And as for not learning english when you live in britain is absolute madness, you obviously want to live off the british and be housed, clothed, fed, educated and lots of free healthcare, as you have loads more babies than the average brit. And what do you do, you study a book that doesn't help the greater good of society in britain. I think muslims should look to their own society and see what they are doing wrong, it's not our fault you have so many criminals and terrorists amongst you.
I would accept I'd be bloody angry as an integrated muslim for the invasion of Iraq and Afganistan, but peaceful protest is always available and lobbing your MP. I for one don't give a damn about those two countries, they were both doing very well killing different sects of muslims off on their own, why did we need to bother with either of these backward countries. I do know why, OIL, that's all the west ever wants, but then what else have arab countries got to sell, nothing, except loads and loads of people.

Getting back to the programme, nice bit of demonisation. Right at the beginning, the agenda was clear, the Uncle Tom Muslim making up his own idiosyncratic definitions, instead of using the etymologically accurate meaning. Talk about Yellow journalism?
^Yup you may be british but you'll never be english. You are ethnically cleansing the english out, and are taking everything you can get for free. What's your birth rate something like 4 to 1 more than the english. Not your fault for sure, but the english can see they'll soon be gone and don't want to visit islam, or any other culture, on their children and grandchildren etc.
ReplyDeleteI find it utterly ridiculous to follow one book, the koran, for one's entire life, the same way I would anyone following the bible. Yes science is all, we come from apes, and are not far removed from them.
And what sort or country do you envisage that you will inherit? Without our work ethic and equality of the sex's, you'll be very poor, in fact back in the middle ages where your religion keeps you.
At the moment we are 15% non indigenous, in 50 years it will 51% non indigenous, when does a country stop being the ethnicity it started with? I don't notice arab countries, or pakistan or india or china turning against it's own race. And telling them they have to be multi racial.
As a former English-teacher-in-a-London-Muslim-School, I can vouch for the horrific things they teach the kids.
ReplyDeleteI am sure there are some really good schools out there (there has to be as there can never be 100% good or bad anything) BUT
they do teach them some very seemingly strange things and how to cut of hands is part of it. How to slaughter a cow properly is part of it. Islamic schools have a duty to teach the "proper way of doing things" and so the same way the kids have to learn the proper way to do formulas, and the proper way to write essays, they also have to learn the proper way to bathe, make wudu, cut off hands, identify believers, disbelievers etc etc - Islam in an Islamic school has an extra "science" class, called "hadith" and they teach it as a "science" and therefore everything that is Islamic is broken down and taught in every details. Naturally, kids will ask questions - what if? why? how? and naturally, the teachers have to have the answers according to Quran and hadith.
As the cutting off of hands is a Quranic punishment, naturally - the Islamic studies teacher will have to know every single necessary detail about it...and then teach it.
As a Christian myself I still disagree about this. People are allowed to learn what they want even if it could be considered "wrong" A teacher might tell you something but you dont have to agree with it (As it happens a lot of students dont agree with anything, only to disagree). I do not think Faith schools are divisise as all major religions teach love towards everyone. Just because a small minority of these schools teach things that could be objectionable does not mean they are all the same. Look at standardised public schools for instance. Recently there was a goverment incentive to try and teach Sexual Education to primary school children. They havent even got developed sexual organs or a sexual drive so you tell me what this is about? No school is perfect, only the school of life, trial and error is the only way for some.
ReplyDeleteI feel a lot two faced ignorance from this topic, you mention at the end about a Pakistani Muslim "terrorist" you fail to mention the atrocities our side has commited to the muslim world. We carpet bomb their women and children and destroy their homes for a stupid illegal war to claim the little oil that is left on this planet, and then expect no return fire?
ReplyDeleteThese so called terrorists are freedom fighters, when Spain ceased involvement in the war the attacks suddenly stopped, these people have a code of honor. However I do feel these freedom fighters need proper inteligence and should target political figures involved in the war rather than inflicting civilian casualties. The BBC is racist and biased you should know that by now, example, 1 British soldier killed and it makes the evening news, whereas 50 thousand civilian Muslim casualties do not even make the 24 Hour BBC news channel. It was only 40 years ago they promoted racism towards the Scottish, now they have just broadened their horizons a little. Grow up and learn some respect. I am a white Christian by the way so dont mistake me for some fundamentalist Muslim.
