What an utter farce that Labour can maintain the sham of carrying out a democratic process when in reality the likes of Norma Stephenson and Michael Cashman MEP who ran the shortlisting and interviews managed to keep out the most impressive local Muslim candidate Afzal Khan.
Ed Miliband should be ashamed of himself that this is how Labour continue to behave towards local Muslim pillars of the community. Moreover as I've already highlighted is Norma Stephenson the most hostile and anti Muslim member of Labour's NEC and to think she is President of Unison which must have thousands of Muslim members.

ReplyDeleteI have contacted the comrade in question. Unlike yourselves Cllr M Afzal Khan accepts the shortlisting decision of the party. He is a professional and he knows his time will come. Afzal was interviewed but did not make the top three and their local credentials are stronger. Is all. Two excellent muslim candidates did make the top three. Debbie Abrahams narrowly beat their combined vote in the first round.

In the interests of working people and all those seeking social justice - including muslim families - London Muslim would do well to back the candidate of the people's party and reject the kind of shenanigans which have blighted elections in the area in the past.
How can it be a stitch up, when two thirds of the short-list were excellent local Asian councillors and former Mayors of the borough, while the winner is an excellent candidate from the General Election who lives on the border of the constituency.

lets deal with the facts.
NEC was influenced by the Zionist lobby group (by payment of money into the labour party). for the first time ever, NEC sock everyone and Impose three candidates in the constituency. Two Asians and Debbie (a zionist). The members did not have a say on who would make the shortlist.
Lets look at the two Asians. Both former mayors and one is from the Bangladeshi community and the other former Mayor is from the Pakistani community. The zionist knew this would split the vote of the Asian members in the local constituency party in oldham so you would have the Pakistani members voting for Raiz and the Bangladeshi's voting for Jabbar.
The process left the Zionist Debbie to secure the victory although Jabbar almost pulled off the unthinkable only to be let down by the pakistani members of the party.
The likes of Afzal Khan, Peter Wheeler did not even get asked for an interview. It was shocking and of course Afzal and others will play it dipomatically.
to re-iterate, Debbie only got in as she is a zionist. This is a woman who could not even get elected as a councillor in Rochdale and this May was given a seat in Colne Valley but she failed to defend it (google it and you will note she lost to the tory candidate)!

If being Asian is most important to those members selecting the Candidate they would have selected their Asian opposer as 2nd choice. Obviously not.
I well remember the treatment of then East Pakistan by the ruling group in West Pakistan, saved only by an Indian invasion.
At some stage in Oldham there were incidents between Asians from opposite side of our Town, Long before the Glodwick riots.
I suspect that there are still problems between the different groups highlighted by this vote.
