Canada insults the UAE

LM has regularly highlighted how Canada's right wing pro Israel Govt under Stephen Harper needs to be challenged democratically by Canada's growing Muslim population.

However, ironically and perhaps via an unintended route it appears the UAE, after what Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan the UAE's Foreign Minister calls an "insulthave taken on the responsibility by aggressively using its economic and political clout following a dispute initially over landing rights at Toronto's Pearson Airport.

The dispute has escalated with the UAE correctly treating Canada's citizens like criminals over a visa spat and Canada's energy sector suffering considerably as the UAE tightens its economic squeeze on Canada's largest export market in the Middle East.

LM urges the UAE to continue its economic embargo on Canada given Harpers contempt for Muslims domestically and internationally however, sadly in what is a classic example of Muslim disunity while the UAE are doing the right thing, Morocco has just welcomed Harper and sent him packing with lucrative trade deals.

  1. FYI
1-UAE is not in a position to squeeze canada
2- The whole thing does not have anything to do with Islam or Israel. Its all about money for both sides
2- Its a lose situation for UAE.Canadian business will move to Qatar and Bahrain instead of UAE and Canadian tourists will go somewhere else. You don't need a visa for 99% of the world with Canadian passport so why bother going to Dubai?
3- Politics and money are dirty for everyone's sake don't mix them with Islam or any other religion. Religion is all about peace, honesty, good manners and all the good things.

  2. Two corporate REQUESTS.
BPH of Australia requests our Government to purchase our Potash company.
Air Emirites of the UAE requests more landing rights.
The PM denies both, as not being in Canada's interest. BOTH WITHIN HIS RIGHT!
One country shrugs, and moves on. The other starts a trade war.
Who is the true ally? Who is acting like a dictatorial thug?
It has nothing to do with Islam, you proved it yourself with our trade agreement with Morocco.

  3. Maybe it does have something to do with Islam.
Why else would the UAE act in such a irrational manner?
