The distinguished senior CBS correspondent Lara Logan is recovering in hospital from what has been described as a serious sexual assault.
Apparently during the celebration over the downfall of Mubarak she was separated from her crew when the gruesome and sustained attack took place.
Clearly a shocking horrific incident and while one commends the soldiers who appear to have rescued her, it goes without saying that the culprits need to be apprehended and dealt with severely.

The Egyptian people are great gentle people but their government and police are gangs who have been in power for 30 years and commit the most horrendous crimes and thank God they have been toppled.

ReplyDeleteWhat has happened to that beautiful woman is awful, I would hate for that to happen to my daughter or wife/mother. But the thing is in a way I don’t mind seeing CBS and CNN get owned sometimes – perhaps not to this extent though. These dodgy news agencies should have their war reporting licenses revoked, they are biased and controlled by the government agendas and ratings, I suppose sending in a pretty woman to report in conflict zones, ticks their “engage male teenager audience” box. As for the animals that did this to her, perhaps the arab world is not ready for democracy, at least for another 2-3 centuries. Logan is though is like a lot of TV reporters – after quick fame by dodging a few bullets.. the danger and the fame element is the main driver for their efforts to seek this sort of occupation.

ReplyDeleteActual rape in a crowd that large sounds ridiculous. No matter where you are in the world there are decent people that will step in to intervene. I would however believe that she was beaten and groped, maybe declothed... I would like to point out that an attractive blond had no business being there. Sure we are all working to be "equal" in the US but Egypt still has years of catching up to do. Imagine her covering the riots in LA, would she be any better off? I think CBS should be held accountable, lets be real about it.

And it is not only Egypt that has a critical problem with ignorance but every country in the world, why we only have to look here on this blog and can see ignorant racists and anti-Islamists.
Are all Christians monsters, because most of the Arab world have the right to believe they are by seeing what is being done to them on a day to day basis, how would America or Britain feel if the Arab world was doing this to them day in and day out having your houses broken into by foreign forces, ransacked, your husbands, sons taken away and detained and in worse cases disappeared.
Your neighborhoods bombed frequently and not knowing if the next time it will be your house/family.
It's so easy to point and blame, so easy to find a bogyman when we are told how to by another bogyman.
As For Lara Logan, I am so sorry for what happened to her and the pain she must have felt and will go through in her recovery also for the anguish her family & friends feel, but Lara knows like all hardened news veterans that when you go into war torn areas or violent situations that they are taking unknown risks for this is part of the job.
This is Not an isolated incident it has happened before and it will happen again, but will people stop reporting news,,,,No!

There is so much hatred here and the sad fact is that it is manufactured to incite more hatred by carefully manipulating news sources for political or financial gain.
I despise fascists ignorants, now if there was one denomination the world could do without it would be them!
Islam is an all encompassing entity that has no respect for anything other than itself and has become a global issue more so than any other religion. In England, other ethnic groups that have found there way to these shores have blended into society well and have respected the way of life that has been established here.

Stories of muslim men treating white woman like subordinates are common place and are casting a dark cloud over the religion. It is not just media men with agendas that are planting these seeds of doubt; it is common in every day life. Muslim men frequently have a gora (white girlfriend, which can never lead to a meaningful relationship unless she converts), yet muslim women would be shunned out of muslim society if they were to court a white/black man.
This is not a storm in a tea cup brewed by executives in ivory towers, this is real every day life and muslim society has to drag itself out of the dark ages and accept progression and the advancement of human society.
