Shocking attack on teacher for simply teaching other faiths to Muslim girls

A London RE teacher has been left with horrific injuries including a fractured skull after a Muslim gang decided to launch a vicious attack simply because they opposed his teaching other faiths to Muslim girls.

Clearly these individuals struggle to understand Islam and the respect we have in particular for adherents of the Abrahmic faiths.

The clue is in the title, RE stands for Religious Education where Islam along with other faiths are taught to all kids. Even Muslim faith schools which I oppose teaches other faiths which is why this assault is so shocking and all the more puzzling.

  1. Can you really blame the EDL when this is the sort of thing being committed by muslim gangs on London streets?

  2. The Muslim Faith school that I taught at (in the UK) banned RE as a subject.
The thinking behind it was that whilst they had no problem teaching about other faiths (with an Islamic spin on it) what they objected to was a question in the SAT paper which was:

    Who created God?

The teachers felt that this was a threatening question and not one to ask young children. They decided that such a question is designed to weaken the faith of young people.

What do you think about that?

  3. @ Anon - yes we can blame the EDL.

People of different faiths, races and cultures have been systematically attacked and abused by whites for years - that doesn't mean it's OK for extremist groups to start exploding tube stations.

In much the same vein, instances like this one are not an excuse for the EDL to start pumping hatred through the British community

    Yes we can.

Unless you think that a few misguided twits, (count how many), legitimise the relatively large organized bunch of violent ideological thugs known as the EDL; matters of proportion?
Are you an apologist for thuggery?

P.S. what evidence for "this kind of thing" by "muslim (sic) gangs on London streets"

    - Are you sure as it sounds very doubtful. Ever heard of the National Curriculum? Smells fishy.
