American Muslim refused permission to fly by Southwest because she looked "suspicious"

Flying while Muslim is becoming an increasingly tiresome task particularly if you are going too or through American airspace.

The latest disgraceful and racist incident occurred when an American Muslim Irum Abbassi was escorted off a Southwest Airlines plane because a flight attendant thought she said during a phone conversation "it's a go" when all she said was "I have to go".

Just goes to show the level of hysteria in post 9/11 America generated by Peter King's anti Muslim hearings that a Muslim wearing a hijab is treated with suspicion when she has committed no crime.

While Southwest has apologised this is not the first and frankly wont be the last case of hysterical racist American attitudes towards Muslims which has affected even a former President of India. America seriously needs to reevaluate the mentality it has towards Muslims whose only crime appears to be we look different and some wear a hijab.

  1. in the 1970s in the UK, irish people were targeted by the police because of irish terrorism. and rightly so. it's too bad if you got stopped and searched, because the police were looking for irish people in irish areas in north west london and other parts of the country where irish people were. now, it's muslims who are the problem. so if you get stopped, it's tough shit. it's other muslims making your life difficult, not the security services. they need profiling at airports to pick out muslims. it's not hysterical, you stupid prick - it's pragmatic. muslims are the problem, so they get stopped. end of story. which bit of that don't you understand??

  2. The bit where Jihad Jane was a blonde haired, blue eyed, non hijab wearing white woman. So of course she couldn't have been a terrorist - she was white, after all. She was just a loner >,<

  5. Religion is a set of beliefs.
I do not believe God exists.
    You do.
So to me it is a set of ideas.

  6. Re: Irish terrorism. Most US terrorism according to facts, not the sensationalist hype over the generation has not been related to Muslims. http://www.loonwatch.com/2010/01/not-all-terrorists-are-muslims/. So the current behaviour is based on an outlier or agenda-driven money-making for the domestic MIC & Israhell.

  7. Make of this what you will, but I would hope that even the "heathen" western male would not harrass a female with her face uncovered, well in a civilisede respectful society at least!

Qur'anThe Qur'an instructs both Muslim men and women to dress in a modest way.

The clearest verse on the requirement of the hijab is surah 24:30–31, asking women to draw their khimar over their bosoms.[5][6]

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their khimar over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to [...] (Qur'an 24:31)
In the following verse, Muslim women are asked to draw their jilbab over them (when they go out), as a measure to distinguish themselves from others, so that they are not harassed. Surah 33:59 reads:[6]

Those who harass believing men and believing women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a grievous sin. O Prophet! Enjoin your wives, your daughters, and the wives of true believers that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): That is most convenient, that they may be distinguished and not be harassed.

  8. What a sad pathetic lowlife and stupid man who needs to get a life! ( and whoever else that thinks like that). I am pretty young but wise enough to see the equality between Asians/brown and white skinned people- Muslims and Christians etc. ;I've also noticed its the older generation that's influencing the young peoples opinions. Whoever said
    'Islam is not a race.
    It is an idea.
You cannot be racist against an idea.'
I would just like to point out that it is racist because if you read the title PROPERLY it says - and I quote 'because she looked suspicious' and if you look in the picture she is wearing a headscarf - which means she looked suspicious BECAUSE she was wearing a headscarf and because she was Asian (also because of the conversation but I would just like to point out that if a white person said it , it wouldn't have been an issue ) therefore its not only racist but also prejudice against Islam (sorry if I misunderstood BTW not having a go lol )
I am Asian and my best friend is white .
White people tan themselves to be brown and dye their hair black and Asians try to lighten their skin and dye their hair blonde. What's the issue where's the difference just a few shades darker / or lighter and suddenly the person not treat as an equal.
Hugs &+ Kisses to everyone who believes everyone should be treat as an equal regardless of religion / culture or colour XxOoXxOoXx
