Shanna Bukhari the British Muslim hoping to represent GB in Miss Universe has claimed she received a death threat over her participation in the event.
LM made it clear on a number of occasions here and here my opposition is to beauty contests which are not a harmless bit of fun but whose purpose is titillating men. However, I also correctly said this would stir up a hornets nest and sadly with the death threat have proved to be right.
I'm not surprised in the slightest that some have shown their priorities by remaining silent over northern Pakistani sexual abuse cases but are more than happy to reveal their insecurity in kicking off about a beauty contest. Given the hypocrisy one thing you can be sure of is northern British Pakistani mosques will be deserted when the Beauty Contest is on while the men pack their wife's off to the outlaws.
In addition, with regard to Shanna who seems to have had a makeover, I disagreed with her previous comments about promoting the virtues of such pageants to other Muslim girls. Interestingly and rather revealing in her Guardian interview she now omits to mention this which if a change of heart is as far as I am concerned a welcome development for someone who will not be watching the event but also will not be ranting like the usual suspects in our community.
Redardless of whether she verbaly promot`s this line of a disgracful career, she in her actions is promoting it and will therefore be held responsible before God for choosing this filth, as well as enticing others to emulate her...

I am not a savage, and thus do not pray. As for sending us back to the Dark Ages, insofar as the term is historically meaningful, we came out of it 1000 years before we came to depend upon oil. Did you know that all Arab countries combined have a GDP less than that of Spain alone and that Spain translates more books per year than the entire Arab world has since the 9th century? Do you realise that if those countries did not have oil to sell, they would be the poorest countries in the world (even worse than the poorest African nations)? Thus, even if Arab countries did "switch off the oil switch" (as you so eloquently put it), I am quite sure that Europe and the West would continue to thrive (we are a resourceful and innovative people), whereas the entire Arab world (including your dictatorial elites) would starve to death.

Yes, I can see that from e.g. sura 41 of the Qu'ran in which it is said that God created the Earth in two days, took four days to nourish it, and then spent two days creating the heavens. It's funny that there were "days" before there was any Earth or Sun, don't you think? According to modern cosmology the Universe is 13.7 billion years old, the Earth 4.6. According to the Qu'ran God did it all in six days (before there were any days). Which version do you think is true? Also, how is it that in sura 41 it says that God took eight days to create the Earth and heavens, and then in sura 50 that it took six? Can Allah not count? Is this the kind of "knowledge" you are talking about?

This totally exposes this myth about death threats. Shanna simply seized an opportunity to raise her profile even more, to try and get more votes. She lies in public by saying she did not know it was against Islam. She lied about facebook saying she had 300 messages a day. She lied about death threats.
One journalist who interviewed her said there would be no repeat or follow-up interview as her word was untrustworthy!

I don't understand why such people come and live in 'infidel countries'. They like the lifestyle and benefits of western countries but want to follow the arabic culture. I have read that in one of the Hadiths of Mohammed he advised muslims not to live in a non muslim (kofir's) country for more than four years. So by that definition all muslims in non muslim countries have infringed that rule.But muslims keep quiet about that rule. When ever you move in to another country to make it your new home you should at least come half way. If you cannot don't stay there for long. Practising Muslims find it difficult to accept new secularist way of life in the west and often resent it as it does not accord with muslim way of life. Rather than leave the country to their ancesteral or another muslim country they prefer to torment themslves in the west and call it dirt rather than leave because they know the probative value outweighs the prejudicial value.

Islam imposes certain rules for our benefit and a Muslim must adhere to them. Unfortunately, Shanna is not. This is why the Muslim community is not happy with this. Death threats and the like, I don't agree with. But in Islam, you just cannot be immodest. That's why the whole Sania Mirza controversy arose. She was flaunting her body on the tennis court, whilst claiming to be a practicing Muslim.
The whole world is corrupt. In the UK, it's normal to date, have sex with your underage schoolfriend, drink alcohol, go clubbing (involving drinking alcohol then having sex later), freely mix with the opposite sex, wear tight-fitting see-through clothes, or prance around in a bikini, go topless at a beach, have anal sex. People do it and people even encourage it! None of these things are allowed in Islam, yet it is considered the norm in this country. People don't see anything wrong with these things because they have grown up with it. If a Muslim enters modelling, they see nothing wrong with it, because they are not Muslim. If you were Muslim, you would realise that the female body should not be exposed in public, and you would not approve of a woman entering a beauty contest.
