LM has also previously highlighted other excellent critiques most notably by Muslim congressman Keith Ellison however, LM believes rather than Muslim focus on King a member of what I term the rodent rightwing Neo Con establishment the bigger picture is these hearings simply build on America's white history of hatred.
Why should we be surprised that yet another McCarthyite is in our midst. For far to long we have allowed the Hollywood narrative of an "American Dream" and Apple Pie to cloud our judgement of America's real legacy.
America was built on genocide towards native Indian Americans and the theft of Indian land yet how many of us were inculcated with the view that John Wayne and his Cowboys were the heroes while Indians were the baddies.
Democrat Michel Honda in his outstanding article outlined how his father an American Japanese along with thousands of other Japanese were interned in concentration camps by white Americans during WW2. Rep Honda went on to explain how "sinister" Peter King's hearings are.
America's real history which we overlook is genocide towards native Indians, the mass murder and genocide of black people via the slave trade and later the KKK, Vietnam, Abu Ghraib, Iraq, Afghanistan and the burning of Quran's etc.
In other words don't be surprised that Muslims are now targeted. Latin Americans are being attacked in Arizona over the debate about immigration and Obama is right that the Tea Party movement is racist to the core because of their unease at a black President.
America is not a country that has recently been hijacked by a combination of Christian evangelicals and Jewish extremists but as Tom Cruise eloquently explains they are a country of "fuxxxng red necks" many of whom in this shocking video define America's approach to Muslims.
