LM previously highlighted the unholy row in Malaysia about the Govt's ridiculous attempt to stop Christians using the word "Allah" in their Bibles.
However, finally sense has prevailed as the Malaysian Govt have agreed to release 35,000 Bibles that use the word Allah which they disgracefully impounded.
I've already explained in detail that Christians during the period of Jahiliyah in Arabia along with even Pagans used to believe their God was "al--Lah" and used this word before Muslims. While I understand the issue of some active Christian missionaries attempting mischief with illiterate Muslim villagers should Christians wish to pray to Allah or refer to Allah in their Bibles that's fine with me.
Frankly I'm all for more people using the word Allah with respect and so struggle to establish what the Malaysian Govt are playing at given the enormous sensitivity and communal tensions that are being generated by this issue.

OMG what left is there to pick on it seems that Muslims are constantly picked on by media which is exactly why Muslims are hated around the world . I doubt very much that Christians used the word Allah (SW) because we can hardly pronounce it .The government are pathetic everyone should be allowed to worship and call god whatever they like . Everyone needs to shut-up about the debates between Christians - Muslims . They are more important things to be worried about. BTW I'm not racist against Muslims or Christians one of my BF is Muslim and the other is Christian.
ReplyDeleteThe government of Malaysia has filed an appeal to the Court of Appeal the main aim of which is to ban non-Muslims from using the word "Allah".
