LM wrote an article a while back about the Burkini coming to London.
The article has been one of the most popular amongst readers so its particularly gratifying to see Nigella Lawson the "domestic goddess" don the Burkini during a dip in Sydney's Bondi Beach.
Lawson has not reverted to Islam from Judaism she is following what a growing number of Muslim and Non Muslim women are doing by covering their modesty for a variety of reasons and in this instance to protect from skin cancer.
For all those wishing to buy a Burkini before you make your way to the Beach have a look at the M Active website for some interesting ideas, its where Nigella got her fetching outfit from.
Yes a good idea for Nigella, she has a very pale skin and would burn easily, and as her husband died of cancer it's not surprising. She can also wear a bra to hold up her ample bosom. Hhmmm perhaps I should get one, it hides the flab admirably.

ReplyDeleteMakes me laugh at how you try to twist everything to suit your dubious ideology. As you, and the first poster already commented, Nigella's alabaster skin and sad family history of cancer (her mother, sister and first husband all died of cancer) has everything to do with her covering up from the glare of the harsh Australian sun, and not any sense of fear or shame at revealing her Junoesque curves.
ReplyDeleteAs anyone who watches her show surely knows, Nigella is not afraid to accentuate and glorify in her sumptuous womanly body. Not the action of a woman cow-towed into hiding herself away, in any (literally) shape or form.
As for this hideous outfit being fetching... 'bat on the beach' is the description I'd choose if trying to define it!
Lastly - although Nigella is an athiest - she's also fiercely proud of her Jewish ancestry, as well she might be. Good on her!

Not a step forward to womankind? How do you mean then?? A woman should be able to dress in any way she wants too. Btw, flashing every inch of skin on the beach to please men is THAT a step forward??

This so-called religion of Islam is a total joke.Everyone knows it. This is another example in a pile of crap that is known as Islam. Modesty? Please. These same modest women, they have no problem using them as human shields.
