Chris Tarrant's daughter Fia has reverted to Islam and become a Muslim in order to marry her property developer boyfriend Adam Ali Khan.Naturally the Daily Mail's Richard Kay could not contain his Islamophobic credentials with a nasty approach to reporting the story by implying Tarrant must be so humiliated by his daughter becoming a Muslim this would be one question not being asked on Who Wants to be a Millioniaire.
LM suggests one question Tarrant could ask on his show, "What idiot of a Journalist at the Daily Mail does not like Muslims". With Melanie Phillips et al that might not be an easy answer so perhaps all one's lifelines including asking a friend like LM might be required.
If you read the entire article and the interview you will find that she became a muslim because her boyfriend's grandparents wanted her to convert. She did it to please them and her boy friend - Willingly, no swords or threats of sucide bombing involved!. She does not wish to observe the practices of the religion - reported by her in the article. Not suprised really, well, how many muslims observe the basics of their faith...?!
ReplyDeleteSurely becoming a Muslim is more than just saying a verse because you think it'll make your boyfriend's god-parents happy? She says in the article that she won't go to the mosque and will carry on her job as a DJ.

If anything, more of an insult to Islam.
ReplyDeleteThe guys on this site always attack Muslim women who have boyfriends but here is an example of a Muslim man who has a girlfriend but I don't hear the cries of this being unislamic.

This Adnan guy should pick up a Qur'an and learn more about his faith, but so should LM and the commenters on this site.
