When is Eid Tuesday or Wednesday ?

LM perhaps like Muslims worldwide gets fed up over the usual mayhem regularly caused over deciding when is Eid.

Tom Wright explains his view on the difficulty Muslims face deciding when Eid is however, LM cannot understand what's so difficult about getting a telescope and sigting the moon. Given the Muslim history of great scientific discoveries when the Moors Ruled Spain and other amazing discoveries like Algebra all made when the West was undergoing their "Dark Ages" one would think we would be able to get our act together.

I thought Saudi astronomers were saying this year Ramadan is 30 days so it ends on Tuesday and Eid is on Wednesday. However, sadly perhaps our inability to unite over a simple task of sighting a white round object in the Sky is indicative of our overall decline politically, militarily and scientifically.

** Update** Eid confirmed by Saudi as being on Tuesday

** Update 1** Saudi King also confirming Eid on Tuesday

  2. The difference is due to those who follow Saudi-funded masjids blindly agianst the the method that our ancestors gave us i.e. moon sighting.

Just as the sun rises in the East & moves towards Western latitudes, the moon rises in the West & moves towards Eastern latitudes.

Neither can Saudi see the sun BEFORE Japan, nor can it see the moon BEFORE America.

However with the claimed Eid moon sighting in Saudi BEFORE Western latitudes, demonstrates a wilful ignorance of the laws of Allah's creation. They might have well have us believe that the sun rises in West!

No wonder the Muslim world, led by the imitative blind rulers is leading us to an anti-scientific & irrational bottom position.

(Actually at least some Saudi scholars have some sense & honour, stating that Saudi-funded masjids in overseas countries should follow local moon-sighting. However the local deputies are afraid to take the initiative. Turkey & France admitted not seeing the moon, BUT decided to blindly follow Saudi mistakes).

Check the moon visibility curves for Monday & Tuesday to see for yourself!
