Muslim Chaplains

An interesting research report by Cardiff University has detailed the increasing work of Muslim Chaplains.

LM's immediate reaction when reading a positive story was this must surely be some form of wide up concerning Muslim Charlie Chaplins however, the report appears to establish the important Role Models Muslim Chaplains have become in public organisations like Prisons.

The need to continue to highlight, for example, the importance of dealing with vulnerable individuals particularly Muslim youth who have, for whatever reason gone astray and ended up in Youth Offender Institutions is vital and LM offers a Hijab Tip that salutes the valuable work of Muslim Chaplains.

  1. Be careful with this issue because there is a population issue at work here, and due to my lack of "good words with which to explain myself" - I have to rely on metaphor.

Islam is a country and it's government is it's chaplains. Government recruits citizens and does really well in recruiting offenders, criminals etc etc (which is all fine and dandy) - but if the majority of the population are from the criminal nature - the tone and way of being of the country will change, and it will become less strong. If criminals continue to be criminals (only now they are Islamic criminals) then the country suffers.
Therefore whilst it is great that Islamic recruitment is very strong in the prisons, the vulnerable and the criminal - we still need to think about the other kinds of citizens as well so that we can balance the skill set and strength of the country
