Pakistan or as I have rather uncharitably dubbed it Pornistan is set to become a major beer exporter.
A rather gleeful official claimed "India would be the largest market for our alcoholic products". He went on with the wind now really behind his sails to say without a hint of irony "The sky is the limit, if we get the permission we plan to distribute everywhere".
LM is not usually lost for words but the following quote from the donut who owns the brewery seems to sum up perfectly the growing death of the country, according to Isphanyar Bhandara, "Pakistan is known for a lot of bad things, but is time for us to be known for some good things too, like our beer".

Oh , the hypocrisy.
ReplyDeleteOh LM your cheap attempt at earning the racist Paki-basher award has resulted in a big fail.
ReplyDeleteThe company is owned by Parsis NOT Muslims (BUT why let FACTS get in the way of your anti-Islamic tribal jahil hatreds eh?) > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minocher_Bhandara
So the minority communities are not forced to by Muslims to obey Islamic law & can serve non-Muslims, both domestically & internationally. Should they be banned in your view & forced to obey Sharia?
Strange that LM has such a selective bias, ignoring the rest of the Muslim world, where even "Muslim" citizens can openly buy & drink alcohol.
Desperate, real desperate.
I visited the brewery in Karachi- which made excellent beer- many years ago. The guide explained that if people believed they were risking their souls by drinking their product, the least they could do in exchange was make good beer.
ReplyDeletePakistani beer, afghan heroin, Saudi sex trade, Moroccan black....actually, Pakistani has loads of hashish as well
ReplyDeleteLots of countries have licit & illicit drugs, yes beer, heroin, hashish ad nauseum and the sex trade. Name one country that doesn't, try this one for a start & work outwards.
ReplyDeleteLight is seen all the clearer by the appearance of darkness. Allah is Al Hakeem.
