Baroness Warsi urges Britain to embrace faith

Baroness Warsi has urged Britain to embrace faith through being a country that is proud of religion.

Ignore the Torygraph spin in their headline by Christopher Hope who ridiculously attempts to smear Warsi by claiming she as a Muslim is urging Britain to be more Christian, coverage which causes in part the nutters in our community to attack her with eggs.

The context of the article is about embracing faith and since this is a Christian country it goes without saying when you are addressing the 95% of the population who are nominal Christians what she is urging them to do is stop the drift towards secularism and cynicism which has and continues to destroy the fabric of a cohesive society.

The difficulty of course is when a Muslim attempts to overcompensate by telling a Christian nation to go back to its roots, all manner of hostile characters including Muslims will point the finger at her being a Christian rather than a Muslim. In reality, Warsi is pointing the finger at a Christian nation and saying shame on you for abandoning your faith. As a result, her message is a return to Christian values of tolerance will see a healthier attitude and discourse towards all Minorities negating the ability of the EDL to flourish which is why I support her in urging faith to be a central tenet for an individual and society.

*Update* Warsi should have spoken about the Chauffeur - driven Bishop of London and a Church who refuse sanctuary for peaceful protesters as perhaps one reason why so many are giving up on what has become an international corporation in the best traditions of Godfather 3 and its depiction of the shady manner the Vatican deals with its finances.

Exeter Mosque opens

Congratulations to the Board of Trustees following the opening of a new Mosque in Exeter.

The Mosque which is set to cater for Devon's growing Muslim population took 3 years to build and like other Mosques in the South West has a tradition of strong inter faith work.

LM regularly takes trips to Devon and looks forward to visiting the Mosque and praying there.

Malaysia's growing Muslim - Christian tension

LM has written a number of articles here and here about the sadly deteriorating relationship between Muslims and Christians in Malaysia which resulted over the weekend in a march by Muslims against Christian missionary activity.

LM is wary of so called "Islamic groups" organising marches against minority faiths which although not in this instance can and does lead to violence as we have seen on a number of occasion's in Indonesia. Surely there has to be a better way by simply sitting down and discussing mutual concerns rather than the gramophone activity we currently have in Malaysia by the likes of Yusri Mohamed.

I should also add that only 5,000 turned up despite calls for a  million to attend the rally.

Pakistan or as I have rather uncharitably dubbed it Pornistan is set to become a major beer exporter.

A rather gleeful official claimed "India would be the largest market for our alcoholic products". He went on with the wind now really behind his sails to say without a hint of irony "The sky is the limit, if we get the permission we plan to distribute everywhere".

LM is not usually lost for words but the following quote from the donut who owns the brewery seems to sum up perfectly the growing death of the country, according to Isphanyar Bhandara, "Pakistan is known for a lot of bad things, but is time for us to be known for some good things too, like our beer".

Muslim Political Participation Conference in 2012

The Alwaleed Centre at the Uni of Edinburgh are organising a very interesting conference on Muslim Political Participation in April 2012 which includes a public debate involving elected politicians like Anas Sarwar MP.

The one thing we politically illiterate Muslims require is greater political engagement in contemporary British society and this conference appears to be focusing on the fascinating yet largely unknown trends concerning how Muslim political participation has changed as well as what predictions can be made for the future.

LM may pop up to Bonnie Scotland for the public debate and I urge those of you who share my interest in the political issues on the agenda to also join the discussion in Edinburgh.

400 abuse claims at British Mosques

LM has written about the horrific sexual abuse carried out in British Pakistani Muslim Mosques up North on numerous occasions here, here and here.

As a result I am not in the least surprised with figures announced today that 400 allegations of physical abuse were made at British Madrassah's in the last 3 years although I would have preferred a detailed breakdown geographically and which Nationality was running the Management committees of these so called Mosques. However, following the excellent C4 Dispatches by Tazeen Ahmad, LM has a pretty good idea who is carrying out the abuse.

Frankly LM believes the figure of 400 to be a very conservative figure and I would not be surprised if double that number was probably a more accurate reflection of the perverted nature of some Pakistani Imams and some Pakistani Mosques up North who are carrying out hidden abuse due to under reporting.

LM is in complete agreement with Dr Siddiqui of the Muslim Institute who calls for a National registration scheme because while Pakistani Mosques remain silent we have an epidemic of sexual abuse in the Pakistani community up north which as has also been previously mentioned involves British Pakistani gangs up North.

The usual tired defensive reaction will not focus on the disgusting sexual physical abuse carried out by these perverted cretins but why LM focuses on a particular country. As a Muslim my focus is on Islam so when any pervert in the House of Allah swt carries out a physical sexual attack on a vulnerable innocent kid destroying his or her life along with the devastated family than I don't give a toss about your sensitivities regarding your country of heritage, my focus is on protecting the beauty and reputation of my faith along with our kids unlike yours. LM defends Islam not perverts and perhaps one day when a member of your family gets sexually abused by a disgusting cretin you might join me and Mohammad Shaffiq of the Ramadan Foundation who has also been bravely vociferous in exposing these scum.

LM has written previously about the shocking circumstances concerning the incarceration and assault on Babar Ahmad.

Babar is a British Muslim and the longest detained British detainee held as part of the global "War on Terror". He was arrested and before reaching the Police station brutally beaten up by Police before being released without charge. The US then in 2004 sought his extradition on the usual trumped up "terrorism" charges under procedures requiring no evidence so he was re-arrested and has been locked up in Prison for 6 years awaiting extradition although never charged.

The Free Babar Ahmed campaign are urging all supporters to please sign this petition urging the British Govt to stop the extradition. 100,000 signatures are urgently needed before 10 November to force a debate in Parliament so please please do the decent thing and sign the petition.

Liam Fox and the Israel connection

LM is not in the least bit surprised that the scandal surrounding Defence Secretary Liam Fox over his friendship or is it relationship with the Israelite Adam Werrity has been confirmed as having significant funding links with Israel.

However, what I am surprised about is how the wider mainstream outfits appear confused that a Defence Secretary who has dubious Stag nights in Dubai with his "friend" Werrity should appear to be putting the interests of Israel before this Country. Ever wondered what Fox's views on Iran might be and who in the MOD might be influencing him in taking this country to yet another ill conceived illegal war, yes a certain Adam Werrity.

Why should we be shocked that Werrity a member of the Israel Lobby whose overseas trips to Israel were funded by BICOM the Israeli lobbying scum is allowed to accompany a British Defence Secretary on sensitive overseas trips and have access to secret documents and data regarding our various imperial military adventures. Just like in America where as Mearshimer and Walt have so eloquently explained the Israel Lobby have "created havoc in the Middle East and now threatens an even more perilous future" so here in the UK they do the same.

The B£iar years showed how a democratically elected political party could be bought by the Israel Lobby in the guise of Lord Levy so why should the Israelites not try their luck again with buying the Tory Party and running the MOD. Frankly, the likes of Sheikh Mansour should consider buying a political party rather than a football club like Man City as it appears the going rate for buying Political influence is far cheaper with one advantage being you don't have to deal with a Carlos Tevez. However, sadly the Sheikh is not a British citizen.

Currently, Britain is at War in Afghanistan killing Muslims or as the Murdoch Establishment like to claim dying for Queen and Country. David Miliband goes to Gaza

Despite his Mum being a long time member of Jews for Justice in Palestine our former Foreign Secretary David Miliband has suddenly developed a conscience after visiting Gaza at the request of Save the Children.

LM has written about D Miliband previously and while I agree with his assessment on Gaza that "the first responsibility rests with Israel" why did he not say this when Foreign Secretary?

I'm fed up to the back teeth of Labour politicians in opposition saying the right thing on for example the Concentration Camp in Gaza before assuming political power then doing a Lib Dem and ditching their core support along with all progressive policies on the Middle East.

Oh, and should you be unclear of where his loyalties lie he describes his job on Twitter as covering "Worldistan" a derogatory racist reference to Muslims.

Hertz suspends Muslim workers over taking a break for Prayers

Hertz the car rental firm have disgracefully suspended Muslim airport shuttle bus drivers for simply taking a prayer break during their shifts.

What makes this story even more upsetting is that Hertz ordered their Gestapo Managers to stand watch outside the Prayer room then warn Muslim brothers they would be suspended while on their way to pray if they did not clock out.

My advice to Muslims around the world is when next thinking about renting a car from Hertz please bear in mind and picture those Hertz Managers outside a Muslim prayer room verbally assaulting Muslims whose only crime is wishing to pray.

Abdul Awkal who murdered his wife and brother in law is suing the Ohio Prison System for denying him his right to be served Halal food while at the same time providing kosher meals to Jewish prisoners.

Frankly this donut who has upset the American Porkies is having a Giraffe (laugh) by suddenly appearing to demand the right to Islamic food while somehow appearing to have missed the fundamental Islamic principle in the Glorious Quran - Surah Maidah which expressly prohibits the killing of an innocent person.

LM gets numerous requests to support various Muslim charitable causes and does my best to support and publicise those that I know are worthy, credible and ultimately reliable.

My hesitancy over requesting financial support is exemplified by my current refusal to include a paypal widget and raise money for myself despite numerous lucrative offers of financial support simply because I prefer the Independence that comes with expressing a view without fear or favour.

However, as a West Londoner who lives in Ealing Southall a number of individuals have contacted me about a Muslim Community Center up the road in White City that are currently struggling in their fundraising efforts to pay the expenses of maintaining a building and paying the salary of the outstanding Sheikh Sameh Aloush.
