Indian Muslims have demanded a ban on "Sir" Salman Rushdie entering the country to attend a Jaipur Literary Fesival later in the month.
Rushdie is probably on the pull for another Indian Wife after Padma dumped him rather than promoting his crap books. LM has no idea why an attractive model would marry a balding slimy ageing millionaire author.
Looks a tricky one for Congress as the Deoband who called for this ban and an apology from Rushdie over the insulting Satanic Verses do appear to have raised this issue with elections on the horizon and the crucial Muslim vote being desperately courted by Congress and the BJP. Five states will be voting including the vital Uttar Pradesh with a very significant Muslim population.
Sadly for Indian Muslims, Rushdie is an Indian with a PIO Card so he does not require a Visa and there is no truth in the rumour that he is also considering attending the Tehran Literary Festival.
